New and re-mixed photographs...

I'm excited to share with you a brand new set of photographs.  I took these up in northern Michigan.  What do you think?

And now to the re-mixed photographs...mostly my Queen Anne's Lace photos with antique or black and white finishes.  I played around with the center of focus on the first image.

Finally, one of my most popular images, "I Miss You," with a few changes (cropping, soft focus, color tweaking).  You can find it in my Etsy shop.

Jane Austen Festival and Ball Film

Jane Austen Festival and Ball Film

This film highlights the festivities included in the annual Jane Austen Festival and Ball held in Louisville, Kentucky. The Festival was located at Historic Locust Grove and the Ball was assembled at the Ballroom of the Spalding University Center. This year we had just over 1300 attendees to the 4th annual Jane Austen Festival, which included Four Course Afternoon Tea, Regency Emporium/Shoppes of Meryton, Livingston and Fast Nursery, Antique Carriages, a Regency Style Show by Betsy Bashore, a Duel between Gentlemen, Fencing information, Ladies Recreation information, a one-woman show ("Cheer for Chawton, a Jane Austen Family Theatrical" by Karen Eterovich of Love Arm'd Productions), and many more presentations and workshops.

The Ball was a joint effort between the Jane Austen Society of North America- Greater Louisville Region and the Louisville English Country Dancers. Instruction was provided by the Master of Ceremonies, Don Corson, and music produced by Keltricity. Dancers from all skill-levels were encouraged to participate. Instruction was given before the dance with time for practice and then dancing commenced.

I am a member of the Jane Austen Society of North America- Greater Louisville Region. I created this film to showcase our annual Jane Austen Festival and Ball. I volunteered during the Festival and participated in the Ball (when I wasn't filming). Enjoy the film!

Lovely Flowers

My mother-in-law's sister has the most beautiful blue and purple hydrangeas.  I just had to take some pictures of them the last time we visited.

I have just started playing around with Picnik (online photo-editing software).  Here's one of my hydrangea photos with the "Holga-ish" effect and "Marcelle Script" for the text:
 What do you think?

A few days ago, I told my husband that there were two kinds of weeds that I liked: Queen Anne's Lace and Dandelions.  Today, I ventured out to our backyard to photograph our plethora of Queen Anne's Lace.  Our backyard is a bit "wild."  We've been toying with the idea of buying or renting a goat to come clear it for us.  We'll see...

I loved this caterpillar that was hanging out on one of the branches...

Happy Monday!  Thanks for checking in!

I'm back and playing catch up...

Hi all!  Sorry for the prolonged absence.  HI Family Camp went very well!  We had a rootin' tootin' good time exploring the Wild West.  Here are a few pictures of the decorations that I made (the sign and the cacti):

I also finished up a wedding invitation calligraphy order right before camp started.  It turned out really nice!  I did script for the addressee's names and block text for the address, which was requested by the bride.  Here's a sample of an address I did:

Now to what I usually post about...flowers!!!  We have some beautiful cala lilies blooming in our garden.  This year some of the blooms have developed a blush around their edges, which absolutely stunning!

And last, but not least, on the Fourth of July my family and I were able to get together with my husband's extended family.  I was the family photographer for the day (for most of the time).  This picture of my husband and I was taken by my husband, since he has longer arms than I do ;)

It was such a blessing to spend the day with my husband's family.  We had tons of food...check out this delicious-looking (and tasting!) angel food cake...

And my son "bonded" with his cousins...(my son has the green cone and is reaching for the blue cone)...
Hope you all had a wonderful, relaxing Fourth of July! Did you get to see any fireworks?  Spend time with family and friends?

One last thing...this weekend (July 9th and 10th) is the 4th annual Jane Austen Festival in Louisville, Kentucky.  I am volunteering as the tent coordinator and Children's tea photographer while also participating in a play and style show.  I'm going to be quite busy this weekend!

If you are interested in more information, please see the JASNA-Greater Louisville Region's website: www.jasnalouisville.com.  You can register for the festival and events on the website.  Here's our festival poster for more information:
Well, I think that concludes my catch up post.  I will have new flower photographs and Jane Austen festival photos up next week!  Thanks for checking in!
