Temporary Hiatus

Hi all!  Sorry there haven't been any posts for a while.  I'm busy at work finishing new paintings, prepping my photos for display, tying up loose ends, and creating a nice inventory of my items to sell at a new gallery, Koch and Company, that will be opening up soon in Louisville.  My Etsy shop will still be open, but now I'll have a new venue for selling my photographs and art!  Thanks for your patience!

I will have new things to show off very soon!  And lots more ideas that need to be created!  Stay tuned...

When the Elephants came marching in...

We have had rainy, stormy weather since the middle of last week.  Flash flood/Flood warnings, severe thunderstorm warnings, tornado watches/warnings, high winds...you name it, we've experienced it (or are continuing to experience it!).  It's been great for the garden (though, if we get any more rain, our plants might wash away!), the grass, and the trees.  Everything is a lovely shade of green.

It seems like every morning (most likely EARLY morning) I have been woken up by thunder.  And all I can think is "Who let free the Elephants again?"

I am very ready for the sun and uninterrupted sleep to return.  Maybe in May...

Getting ready for Irises

I am anxiously waiting for my Iris plants to bloom.  I absolutely love Irises and all the different varieties of them.  We have two different varieties at our house (with a third that still needs to be planted!).  More photos to come!

Dandelion Dreams...

Here are few new images to compliment my "Violet Dandelion" image (in the previous post).  The Sepia and Black and White images are perfect for triptych framing or they can be framed alone.  The "violet" images would look lovely as single framed images or paired together.  Enjoy!

Violet Dandelion Dreams...

I absolutely LOVE how this photo turned out (and I know it's going to look absolutely amazing on metallic photo paper)!  I have to admit that I am typically a "purist" when it comes to my photos...I take the photo as I want it to look and do minimal edits in post processing.  However, it seems that most photography that sells on Etsy has been altered in some way.  So, I tried my hand at color alteration and this is what I discovered :)

I'm going to still stick with my "purist" ways, but I will endeavor to experiment more often.  Thanks for looking!  Feel free to share!

Boats...

I've had these boat images for a while and decided to "tweak" them a little bit.  I played with the saturation and color tint levels to give each one a little more interest. I love the warm glow that each one has.

I've had this painting listed on Etsy for a while now and thought that it would look great paired with my revamped boat photos.  What do you think?  I'd love feedback.

Another Round of Cherry Blossoms

Sadly, the wind and rain from the past day has stripped most of the petals from the blossoms on our Weeping Cherry tree.  The beautiful blossoms will soon be all gone to be replaced by leaves :(  At least, I have these photos to remind me of their beauty and hope that they will return to their glory next Spring.
